Nous allons commencer 2017 en force avec d’excellents pr\u00e9sentateurs.<\/p>\n

Philip Malric va bri\u00e8vement nous parler du hackathon au mois de mars organis\u00e9 par l’Association \u00e9tudiante des bioinformaticiens du cycle sup\u00e9rieurs de l’UdeM (AEBINUM).<\/p>\n

Dr. Majewski, le pr\u00e9sentateur principal pour la r\u00e9union, iest un profeseur associ\u00e9 au D\u00e9partement de g\u00e9n\u00e9tique humaine de McGill. Il va nous pr\u00e9senter sa recherche sur les perturbations \u00e9pig\u00e9nomiques dans les cancers p\u00e9diatriques du cerveau. Voici un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 de sa pr\u00e9sentation.<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Many cancers are driven by mutations that affect the epigenome: the genetics of epigenetics. For the past few years, we have been studying mutations that directly affect the lysine 27 and 36 residues (k27M and K36M) of the histone H3. Those mutations occur primarily in paediatric cancers, and disrupt the histone trimethylation marks, H3K27me3 and H3K36me3. I will introduce the topic and give some historical background on the discovery and context of those lesions, Then, in more detail, I will talk about our recent work on cell models and functional (epi)genomic profiling of the downstream effects of those mutations on the epigenome and the transcriptome.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
