Talk Title: VirusSeq project at the McGill Genome Centre

Abstract:

This talk will cover the Quebec VirusSeq project, with a focus on the bioinformatics pipelines and infrastructure required to sequence and genotyping thousands of SARS-CoV-2 viral samples. Both short-read and long-read technologies will be discussed, including the main differences in the tools used for variant calling, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Finally, a summary of the timeline of the projects and the main results published so far will be also presented.
